About Marion

Marion LaNasa is a local artist down in New Orleans, Louisiana. After his retirement from Lockheed Martin, Marion decided to settle down and focus on his art. In his time away from his art, however, he enjoys spending time with his dog, Peaches, and his family.
Gallery
These pieces were hand-carved by Marion from recycled palm husks. His project began in 2017 when he decided he was tired of having to throw away all of the trees' falling debris. Instead of just putting them in the garbage, Marion came up with an alternative use for the dying appendages. He would make art with them. At first, every piece that fell was ultimately turned into what became known as "tribal masks", but later Marion found new techniques and tools and started to cultivate things like whales, turtles, wind chimes, and so much more.
